Evergy Phone Scam Calls

City staff was made aware that phone calls from "Evergy" were made threatening disconnect for non-payment of services. The phone number that called was 785-478-1713.

Evergy will never represent the City on utility matters unless you were made aware of it first through numerous outlets.

Please share this with your neighbors and seniors who may not have online access. The senior population is the highest success rate for these scammers.

We have reported to the AG's office.
