Mission Statement: To protect life and minimize property loss to our community and neighbors.
The Herington Fire Department takes pride in its service to the community and surrounding areas. Its predominantly volunteer staff is dedicated to providing many different aspects of emergency response. Our members hold many certifications and they are trained at the Firefighter 1 & 2 levels.
The primary area of coverage is a 96 square mile fire district in Dickinson and Morris Counties. With a 500 square mile area of coverage for Rescue. The Department has 2 Class A Pumpers, 4 brush trucks that are used for wildland fires, and 1 squad.
