Kansas Association of Trail Towns Update

The City of Herington City Commission recently signed a joint resolution to become a founding member of the Kansas Association of Trail Towns (KATT). The other founding cites are Council Grove, Ottawa, and Osawatomie.

All four founding members are along the Flint Hills Trail. The proposed organization will have goals relating to wellness and recreation, economic development, and placemaking along the length of the trail.

The first meeting of KATT was on Wednesday in Topeka. City Manager Branden Dross and City Commissioner Debi Urbanek were on hand to discuss creation of the organization and what it looks like in 1, 3, and 5 years.
